// Outside class

My activities

What I do with my free time says as much about how I work as my code projects do. Here are the three things I do regularly, and what each one actually brings to my studies.

Strength training
I train every day, entirely on my own: I write my own programmes, track my loads and my progress session after session, and adjust based on the results. It is a discipline with no shortcuts: progress only comes from being consistent over months.
What it brings meConsistency, and the ability to stick to a plan over time, which I find directly in the way I run a development project: making a little progress every day rather than doing everything the night before the deadline. Plus a real mental clarity for tackling hard problems.

development
I also code outside the syllabus, on projects I pick myself. I built a Discord moderation bot in Node.js (a language and an API no class covered) and this portfolio, written by hand in HTML/CSS, with no framework and no site generator, with a light and dark theme and automated deployment.
What it brings meA method for learning an unfamiliar technology on my own: start from the official documentation, build a minimal prototype, then extend it. That is the autonomy I want to bring to a team during an internship.
Tech watch · All year round
Keeping up with the field
I follow how the mobile and web development ecosystem moves: tool releases, good practice, what other developers report from experience. Much of this reading is in English, which keeps my technical reading sharp day to day.
What it brings meNot staying locked into what is taught in class, and arriving on a project knowing which tools already exist before reinventing the wheel.
